Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League table with their win over Burnley on Saturday.

Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez scored the all-important goals in the 3-1 victory at Anfield. The win saw the Reds return to the Premier League summit after Manchester City had temporarily leapfrogged them with their win over Everton.

Jurgen Klopp will now begin assessing his squad for any potential injuries ahead of their next match against Brentford. There was concern about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s fitness after the Liverpool vice-captain was substituted at half-time in the win over Burnley.

Some Liverpool players were absent from the matchday squad against Burnley after suffering from the flu. Alisson Becker and Joe Gomez were not involved against the Clarets due to illness.

Alisson Becker missed Liverpool’s win over Burnley due to the flu. The Reds will be hopeful the Brazilian returns to the squad for Brentford next week.

Mohamed Salah has not played for Liverpool since New Year’s Day and was not in the matchday squad against Burnley. There will be hope that he returns to the team for Saturday’s trip to Brentford.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold started against Burnley and got the assist for Jota’s goal at Anfield. However, the right-back was substituted at half-time and Klopp said that he was withdrawn as a precaution and is set to undergo a scan in the coming days.

Dominik Szoboszlai

Dominik Szoboszlai missed the win over Burnley as he continues a recovery from a hamstring injury. There will be hope this week that the Hungary international is fit enough to feature against Brentford.
